Santa Visits the Rec Center

What: Santa will be visiting the Cottonwood Recreation Center. Hot chocolate will be served, and photos will be available for purchase, benefiting the Cottonwood Youth Advisory Committee.

When: Friday, Dec. 8 from 5-7 p.m.

Where: Cottonwood Recreation Center, located 150 S 6th St.

Polar Express Party

What: All aboard the Polar Express. Attendees can make ornaments, holiday crafts, and write letters to Santa. Feel free to wear pajamas. Children must be accompanied by adult.<

When: Friday, Dec. 8. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event starts promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Where: The VFW located 705 East Aspen in Cottonwood.

Note: There are only 180 tickets at a $5 donation. Tickets can be purchased at: Desert Dance, Acme Pizza, Teaser’s, Chamber of Commerce, The Cowboy Shop, Vinnie’s Pizza and Mooey’s Christmas Shop in Jerome.

Holidays in the Parks: Candlelight Tours

What: Take a candlelight tour of the Officers’ quarters at Fort Verde State Historic Park, decked in Victorian-style decorations. See a glimpse of what the wintry holiday evenings were like.

When: Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 from 5-8:30 p.m.

A Verde Christmas

What: A Verde Christmas is fun for the whole family. Enjoy holiday music, a live nativity, and a few surprises. Celebrate the wonder of Christmas. Nursery provided for kids through age 4.

When: Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3-4:30 p.m. The evening performance is from 7-8:30 p.m.

Where: Verde Community Church, located 111 S. Candy Ln. in Cottonwood

Note: Admission is free, but the Church is collecting items for the House of Ruth Pregnancy Care Center, specifically size 2-4 diapers, wipes and new clothing for boys and girls (size 12 month-4T).

Tlaquepaque Festival of Lights

What: The anticipated Sedona event began 45 years ago. There is a full schedule of musical entertainment, plus a visit from Santa and free cider. More than 6,000 luminarias will be lit at 5 p.m. to honor cancer survivors.

When: Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3-8 p.m.

Christmas Craft Bazaar

What: The Camp Verde Parks and Recreation is hosting the annual Christmas Craft Bazaar. Come browse the large selection of Christmas decorations and unique handmade gifts in a warm indoor facility.

When: Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Camp Verde Community Center Gym located 51 E. Holloman St.

Christmas Parade of Lights

What: Watch lighted floats from local civic organizations, businesses, and neighbors as they pass down Main Street. After the parade, Santa & Mrs. Claus will arrive in their sleigh at the Community Center Gym.

When: Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
